Foot surgery and I apparently don't get along. Have had a minor setback, infection. Thankfully not in the bone. I am truly grateful to have fantastic wound care experts in my neighborhood. I am also grateful that I have learned over the years not to ignore things and/or just hope that they will get better. My experience has shown that action is often necessary for anything to change. The only real down side to this setback is that it cancels all of my travel plans, which includes missing a family wedding.
On the up side of things, my thesis/novel is progressing magnificently. I get edited copies back from two readers this week. Hopeful to make changes and get it to one final reader before turning it over to my thesis director for her first (and probably) only set of comments.
I feel like a movie quotes is appropriate here, from Armageddon. "I can't tell if I'm 2% excited and 98% scared or 98% excited and 2% scared."
Either way, it has been an absolute blast.
Thanks CWW at UNO. You all are amazing.

Recovering
Foot surgery went well. Healing is going well considering how hard some of the past ones have been. Official classes are over. Next up, thesis hours and an internship which I am hoping is a lot of fun as well as educational. Plus there's the defense of the thesis and comp exams. Doing my best to prepare as I can and then not worry about them.
Have received some really positive feedback from the first readers of the thesis. That is definitely encouraging.
The other project this summer is clear out some more stuff. It's not like it's junk. I just have overfilled the space I have. Need to get things better organized and remove anything that doesn't absolutely get used. Somewhere in the mix is a book I have misplaced that need to read. At least it is my book and not someone's copy or the library's.
Here's to making progress this month. Next month we'll be mostly on the road. Headed north to see the family and celebrate two marriages. Blessings galore.

Where did the days go?
This past semester and obviously the one before have been apparently really busy or my time management has gotten worse. Maybe both. Well that definitely has to change. The next month is full, like to the brim full. Then, ugh, foot surgery. Well, this should be the last one. It is the final thing that they really can correct. Hopeful it will eliminate the pain and the recurring callus. Best to do it this summer though since I'll have plenty of writing and rewriting to do. Thesis works to commence full throttle soon.
On a totally different note, no trip to Ireland this summer...short of winning a lottery I really can't afford it financially. And, well, with surgery and a wedding in Ohio, lots of writing to do also, it's probably a good thing. Maybe (fingers crossed) I can go next year as a post graduate. Yeah! I vote for that.
Now I have a full schedule, 2 stories to finish critiquing today. Two papers to get cranking on. Plus I see the dentist twice this week. Time to get those old fillings replaced. Not sure when I'll get back here, but hopeful it isn't another six months. Blessings.
