SEVENTEEN

“The greatest mistake you can make in life is continually fearing that you’ll make one.” Elbert Hubbard

“Have no fear of perfection. You’ll never reach it.” Salvador Dali

I make mistakes. I haven’t met a human that doesn’t. I had a Cherokee grandmother share a teaching with me. She was taught to always put one wrong bead in on purpose whenever she did a pair of earrings or other project. When I asked her why, her reply was simple. “The only one who creates perfectly is the Creator. The rest of us simply do our best to honor His gift.” I don’t think there will ever be a risk of my bead-work ever being perfect but I still, purposely put in that wrong bead. I know I will make mistakes. I have made plenty. I’m just glad that I spend time with others who also make them. If you’re human too, feel free to come hang out with us.
