TWENTY-FOUR

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked into the storm. That’s what the storm is all about.

Don’t confuse your path with your destination. Just because it’s stormy now doesn’t mean you aren’t headed for sunshine.

I am a person who loves storms.
Okay, let me rephrase, I enjoy and have never been afraid of lightning and thunder.
I love the sound of rain on the roof.
No, I don’t like the destruction that comes with flooding, tornadoes, or hurricanes. Having lived through a few destructive storms, minor though they were, I have been changed. I am not the same person I was.
When you have lost precious items because water got in where it wasn’t supposed to. When you have driven miles out of the way because roads are ruined. When your friends have moved far away because they’re family can’t live through one more storm. These things change who you are. They change your resilience. Sometimes, they change your focus. But I haven’t met a storm yet that didn’t end.
