TWENTY-ONE

“To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable.” Ludwig van Beethoven

I like this quote because it gives me the freedom to be passionate about things. That may seem insignificant, but not to me. I was part of an organization that did several community events. One time, one of these events was cancelled with only a few days’ notice. When this was announced at one of our gatherings, I was the only one who was audible disappointed. And then the announcer commented on it, “Well, somebody’s disappointed.” I never spoke of it again. I also never volunteered for anything like that again.
Until I found this quote. Until someone I trusted said to me, “Passion is not a bad thing.” Now I know. Doing that which I love, that which I am passionate about, that is the secret to life. That is my secret to enjoying life. Even in the midst of pain and tragedy, my passions can still carry me through. Find yours. You will need them. Because life is life and it has disappointments.
