I can never
assume someone is helpless or that my action will save them… To think we can
fix others is really a marker of our own insecurity… How will you walk long
with those you minister to today? Lindsay

As
much as I need help with the things happening with my husband, I also try to
help others. I do my best to share my experience and offer hope, not advice.
How can I possibly know exactly what someone else needs for their situation?
How can I even communicate clearly what I need in mine? I think certain things
will bring relief or joy and yet when I wait on God, the answer is almost
always different and better. I like the idea expressed in Lindsay’s question,
“walk along.” If I stay focused on doing what I can beside someone, things tend
to unfold much better than if I am trying to push or lead. I feel better to
when someone stands beside me and says, “How can we make this better?”
